Yes, You ARE Good Enough

Throughout the day, your inner voice speaks to you. It’s there, whispering quietly to you every second of every day. That voice in your head you hear when you have a thought, a dream, an idea.

Now, let me just take a moment to clarify that when I say “inner voice,” I do mean voice. As in singular… There’s probably a problem if you hear several. Just throwing that out there.

Anyhoo… that voice. That voice can sometimes be a dick. Sometimes it tries really hard to sabotage your efforts. Sometimes it’ll tell you things… you’re not good enough. You’ll never be good enough. Other entrepreneurs will always be better than you, they’ve been doing it longer, they have more education, they have more resources. Your skills will never be at the level their skills are. Their ideas are more creative, they’re more established.

Screw that. All of that is nonsense. Absolute shenanigans.

I want to make one thing very clear: You. Are. Good. Enough.

Sure, your competition may have been around longer, they have more resources, whatever.

But that doesn’t mean you don’t have plenty to offer. It doesn’t mean you won’t be successful. You have something that makes you special, something your competition doesn’t have. You need to find that special spin you can put on things and run with it.

Maybe you’re better at customer service, going above and beyond to make sure your clients are satisfied. Maybe you can do the job for half the price. Maybe you’re faster, maybe your product is more creative, more innovative; it tastes better, smells better. Find what makes you special and market it. Utilize it. Make sure everyone knows about it.

And when you do look at your competition and inevitably compare yourself to them, remember that they started somewhere, too. No one is born an expert. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication, commitment, and time to become great at something. Steve Jobs started somewhere, Bill Gates started somewhere else. They didn’t just suddenly wake up rich one day with a pre-built empire served to them on a silver platter. They worked at it, they pushed through the hard times, they didn’t listen to their inner critic; they rocked their inner badass and got it done.

You can do the same thing. They had nothing more than what you have right now.

So start today. Work your ass off. Day in and day out, stick with it. If you love it and want it bad enough, you’ll find a way. You can build an empire, too, just like they did… you just need to lay the foundation and add a few more bricks every single day.

Every. Single. Day.

And someday, you’ll wake up and there will be an entrepreneur pursuing a business in your industry. They’re going to be bright-eyed and fresh-faced and they’re going to look at you and you’re going to intimidate the sh#t out of them and their inner voice is going to say things… you’re not good enough. You’ll never be good enough. Other people will always be better than you, they’ve been doing it longer, they have more education, they have more resources.

They’ll be comparing themselves to you and feeling inadequate, and as it turns out, it seems you really were good enough all along.

You ARE good enough. Believe that and you can move mountains.
